Background & key insights
Chinese investors have for some years made the European Union (EU) one of their favorite destinations, with Germany as the largest investment recipient among EU’s 28 member states. Chinese overseas investments in Europe focusing on high-tech assets, such as manufacturing, machinery, and robotics, have aroused interest but also raised concerns. A number of European industrial giants including Italian tyre manufacturer Pirelli and German robotics firm Kuka are now owned by Chinese companies.
China’s interest in Sweden and the Nordic countries has increased enormously over the past few years. Geely’s acquisition of Volvo Cars is often regarded as one of the most successful cases of inbound direct investments from China. It also contributed to further increase China’s interest in the Swedish market. As the interest of privately-owned and state-owned Chinese companies soars, new and exceptional opportunities for Swedish SMEs are created, whereby inbound investments become a means of internationalization and market entry.
How can Swedish SMEs take advantage of these opportunities? How can they minimize risks and avoid pitfalls? How can SMEs make themselves China-ready considering the business and cultural challenges involved when attracting more investments from China?
Join this seminar to gain in-depth insights into and knowledge of Chinese investment trends in Europe and Sweden. The seminar will offer both real cases and intellectual property expertise in order to make you China-ready.
In the Q&A and networking session there will be possibilities to get 10-15 min costless one-to-one IP consultation. More information will be sent to registered companies.
